What We Collect

Display Name (Optional)

When you complete a draft or tournament, you may enter an optional display name (up to 30 characters). This name is stored alongside your draft/tournament result and may appear on the public leaderboard. If you do not provide a name, "Anonymous" is used. You can change your name after submission using the edit token provided at creation time.

Game Data

We store your draft picks, tournament results, match simulation outcomes, and leaderboard entries. This data is used to power the sharing feature (unique result URLs) and the public leaderboard. All game outcomes are computed server-side — client submissions cannot influence scores or match results.

Edit Tokens (localStorage)

When you create a draft or tournament result, a unique edit token is generated and stored in your browser's localStorage. This token allows you to change your display name on your own results. Only a hashed version of this token is stored on our server. The token never leaves your browser except when you submit a name change.

Analytics & Tracking Services

We use the following analytics services to understand how visitors interact with the site and improve the experience. Analytics scripts are loaded for all visitors.

Microsoft Clarity

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand user behaviour through heatmaps and session replays. Clarity collects anonymous usage data. No personally identifiable information is collected. Clarity uses cookies and local storage to track sessions. Microsoft Privacy Statement

Google Analytics

Plausible Analytics

We use Plausible, a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. Plausible provides aggregate traffic statistics without tracking individual visitors. Plausible Privacy Policy

Ahrefs Analytics

We use Ahrefs to monitor site performance and SEO metrics. Ahrefs collects anonymized traffic data. Ahrefs Privacy Policy

Data Retention

Draft results, tournament results, and leaderboard entries are retained indefinitely to power the sharing feature and leaderboard. There is currently no automatic deletion mechanism.

If you would like your data removed, contact us at support@buildasquad.app and we will delete your records.

Analytics data collected by third-party services is subject to their respective retention policies (see links above).

Cookies & Consent

Essential cookies: The game functions without any cookies. Edit tokens are stored in localStorage (not cookies) and are required for the name-change feature.

Non-essential analytics: Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics, and Ahrefs use cookies and/or local storage. These are loaded for all visitors to ensure accurate traffic measurement.
